When you join NFA as an Information Security Intern, you'll play a critical role in protecting the organization's infrastructure, systems and data through proactive security engineering and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

As an Information Security Intern, you will support security initiatives across the organization and advance modern strategies focused on zero trust principles, operational reliability, data protection, and proactive risk mitigation.  These responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the Information Security team by monitoring, identifying, and investigating potential security threats and vulnerabilities
• Assisting with the creation of automation for repetitive security tasks through coding and the use of AI tools
• Gain hands-on exposure to security tools and technologies, including vulnerability management, endpoint security, identity and access management.
• Support vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts by helping identify, document, track, and validate security findings
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices and share relevant findings with the team.

If you're eager to learn something new and support the integrity of the derivatives markets-and meet the qualifications below, we encourage you to apply to join our team as an Information Security Intern:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related major, and sophomore standing or above
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in NFA's Chicago office full-time (beginning June 2027)
• Basic understanding of information security and cybersecurity concepts
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, cloud security, DLP, SASE, and security policies
• General knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and common security best practices
• Strong interest in learning about security monitoring, risk, and incident response
